The company has established and maintains procedures to identify training needs, conduct training and record training.
All personnel are competent to perform tasks that may impact on SHEQ in the workplace. This competence is defined in terms of appropriate education, training and/or experience. information on training received and any training identified is discussed during staff appraisals. A Training Matrix is held at our Head Office and is maintained on a daily basis.
Environmental Awareness Training Plan
The company has introduced an environmental awareness training plan for employees at all level. All Managers are required to have completed an independent environmental management training course. To this end a total of 26 Managers and Supervisors have undertaken the IOSH Managing Safely 5 days course.
In 2003 the company also purchased the IOSH Working Safely training course with the intention of delivering the course internally to all operatives. However, discussion with various clients and investigation into compliance with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), it was decided that it was not adequate and the the company would continue to have all operatives trained on the CCNSG Safety Passport which is accepted by all our major clients and the CSCS Scheme.
With relation to the CSCS scheme, 2005 saw the company gain cards for 90% of the company Managers/Supervisors/Operatives.
