Industrial respirators are worn by persons who must work in environments where the air is unfit to breathe. Respirators fall into two basic types:
- Air Purifying Respirators (APR) that filter contaminants from the ambient air.
- Supplied Air Respirators (SAR) that provide clean air from a separate source such as a compressor or high-pressure cylinder.
